Hageland Aviation Services employs over 150 people, as well as contract village agents in many communities. We maintain station operations in nine communities in Alaska: Anchorage, Aniak, Barrow, Bethel, Kotzebue, Nome, St. Marys, and Unalakleet.

FLIGHT OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE APPLICANTS
 
Please note: All new hires must pass a drug test and thorough background check. All applicants must be able to account for the most recent 10 years of employment and location history. In addition, a criminal records check and possible FBI fingerprint-based criminal history records check may be administered. To the extent required by FAA regulations, Hageland Aviation Services tests applicants for pilot, dispatcher and aircraft mechanic for alcohol and the following five controlled substances: PCP, Cocaine, Amphetamines, Marijuana, and Opiates. All covered employees are tested prior to employment.

Our most successful applicants possess a working knowledge, an understanding, and a respect for the uniqueness of rural Alaska. They are not in a rush to build flight time. Rather, they are interested in providing an invaluable service to rural Alaska; while gaining the experience of flying in one of the most challenging, beautiful, and remote parts of the world.

Pilot Minimum Requirements
 

Pilot in Command (PIC) - Single engine land (SEL)
 

  • 1500 Hrs. Total Time
  • 50 Hrs Alaska Time
  • Certificate - Commercial / Instrument
  • Second Class Medical
     

Pilot in Command (PIC) - Multi-engine land (MEL)
 

  • 3000 Hrs. Total Time
  • 500 Hrs. Multi-engine
  • 50 Hrs. Alaska Time
  • Certificate - ATP
  • First Class Medical
